Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Sherfane Rutherford will leave the IPL 2021 bio-bubble and return home after hearing the news of the passing away of his father, the franchise confirmed on Thursday.

Sherfane Rutherford, who initially went unsold in the auction, was roped in by SRH as a replacement for Jonny Bairstow after the Englishman pulled out from the remainder of the tournament.

The left-handed West Indies didn’t get a chance to play in SRH’s loss to the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Sherfane Rutherford was in brilliant form during the CPL 2021, where he scored 262 runs at an average of 37.42 and struck 3 fifties, helping St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to the title.
